Message from frog CEO

Andrew Zimmerman
President and Chief Executive Officer, frog

Dentsu and frog have successfully partnered for the past four years to bring the best of customer experience design and growth strategy to our joint clients in the Japanese market.

It has been a joy to watch Japanese clients working with blended teams of frog designers, strategists and engineers, and Dentsu researchers, marketers and designers.

We are proud of the customer experiences and innovative products that have resulted from that collaboration and come to market in Japan. It’s not trivial to get a multi-cultural and multi-lingual team working together, but the outcome of the work has been outstanding.

Japanese companies face the same challenges as their global counterparts. Customer expectations continue to rise, as leading firms offer thoughtful, memorable customer experiences.

In order to survive and thrive, business leaders need to take a systemic, coherent approach to their customer experience.

Excellent customer experience can be a growth engine, as customers abandon poor and mediocre experiences for firms offering world class experiences. The toolkit of Human Centered Design, as applied by practitioners in frog and Dentsu, coupled with our technology expertise has proven to be a great way to compete on delightful customer experiences.

Some of frog’s earliest champions were in Japan, including Akio Morita, Masaru Ibuka, and Norio Ohga of Sony who worked with our founder Hartmut Esslinger in the 1970s. frog even had a studio in Tokyo for a brief period in the 1980s. We are therefore delighted to be back in Japan in our 50th year of operation as a design and strategy firm, and look forward to getting back to our company roots by successfully collaborating with Japanese clients.
